Film, siyahi eylemci Stephen Biko ve onun mesajını tüm dünyaya duyurmak uğruna hayatını tehlikeye atan beyaz liberal bir gazetecinin gerilim dolu hikayesini anlatıyor.Biko' nun gözünden Güney Afrika gerçeğini öğrenen editör, arkadaşının polis baskısıyla susturulduğunu öğrenir. Biko' nun mesajına karşı sessiz kalmak istemeyen editör tehlikeli bir görev üstlenir ve dünyaya cesaret vermek adına Biko' nun unutulmaz hikayesini anlatmaya karar verir.

hareketin semboli haline gelmis Steve Biko (Stephen Bantu Biko) nun hayatini anlatan bir filmi. Irkciliga karsi olduklari icin öldürülen insanlarin adiyla basliyor filim, sonra birden askerlerin bir köyü nasil bastiklarini gösteren carpici sahnelerle devam ediyor. Yönetmen, daha ögrencilik yillarinda irkciliga karsi eylemlerde yer alan, 1968 yilinda Güney Afrika Ögrenci dernegini kuran ve ilk baskani olan, Siyahlar Kongresi onursal baskanligina secildikten sonra da eylemleri tamamen yasaklanan ve gözaltindayken <span> </span>gördügü iskence sonucu ölen Biko‘nun hayatini cok iyi yansitmis.. 1987 yapimi olan bu filmi seyrettigimde, baska ülkelerdeki irkciliktan söz ederken mangalda kül birakmayan, ama kendi ülkeleri söz konusu oldugunda da irkci kesilen insanlar gecti gözümün önünden. Insanligin ölcüsü burda yatiyor bence. Ben acaba ne kadar hosgörülüyüm sorusunu kendine sormadan edemiyor insan.Dilerim filmi bulp seyredersiniz.<br />
içerik ve düşünce olarak gerçekten etkileyici bir film... ama tavsiyem bu filmi alt yazılı izlemeniz,ben vcd de izledim ve malesef dublajlı izlemekten başka da şansım yoktu.sonu biraz da havada kalmasa daha da etkileyici olabilirdi ama yine de güzeldii...
